This course focuses on a planning and design group process in order to integrate individual design products into a final balanced, integral and strategic group design
The focus is explicitly on the relation between research and design from an urban planning point of view
The design task concerns an integrated and strategic urban design for the transformation of a priority neighbourhood / city district
The quarter consists of three parts, which have their main focus on planning and design by research for location development and planning and design by strategy in a group process which integrates the individual products into a balanced and strategic definitive group design
The project is based around moments of improvement and adjustment within the cyclic-iterative planning process; they are explicit moments, in which students can see and learn how to improve their designs based on planning and design research
