Course Contents
In this module the changing technological and economic characteristics of future energy systems is dealt with.

Starting point is the change in the energy sector that is connected with fundamental technological changes and social demands, such as those concerning sustainability and environmental protection. Technological and economic aspects are treated of sustainable energy sources, of small-scale energy conversion systems, and of the application of these systems in the energy infrastructure.
Study Goals
At the end of this module the students know:
= which aspects of energy systems determine their potential in the energy supply of the future;
= how the various themes and aspects are related;
= which developments can be expected in the energy sector.

At the end of this module the students can:
= can formulate well-founded descriptions of the technological and economic characteristics of energy systems;
= make a conceptual design of an energy system, given certain technological and social demands;
= formulate a balanced advice on issues in the energy sector.
