ICT-infrastructures provide generic functionalities that are used by large numbers of users. Infrastructures can provide the flexibility to adapt to ever-changing customer needs and other circumstances. ICT-Architectures aims to bridge the gap between business and technology and should address the dependencies among a large number of heterogeneous elements. In this way, it can be used to guide design decisions and provide direction for progressing towards the next generation of infrastructure. ICT-architectures are aimed at improving (parts of the) infrastructure (the actual reality, i.e. implementations) and take into account the relationships among components. All this needs to be governed by mechanisms to direct decision-making. In this course the relationship between design, ICT-architecture for creating flexible infrastructures is addressed.
