Course Contents
Role of random signals, correlation and power spectral density in statistical signal processing; modeling, detection and estimation of parameters and signals in the presence of noise; linear filtering theory: Wiener and Kalman filters; adaptive noise cancelling; estimation of autocorrelation and power spectral density; applications in the area of signal processing and telecommunications.
Study Goals
To gain sufficient basic knowledge to be able to read, understand and apply the modern statistical signal processing literature in signal and image processing, telecommunication, and media and knowledge engineering applications. Further, to be able to solve simple detection and estimation problems, to reflect on the approach taken and to simulate signal and noise processes and the corresponding estimation and detection algorithms in for example MatLab.
